Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) foundation day

Today, all we could see was the hashtag #BJPFoundationDay trending on social media platforms! 6th of April is a day of celebration for every Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) member as on this day, 39 years ago, in 1980, BJP was born, with endeavouring commitment to serve society, it has raised to a new height with the efforts of its energetic, dynamic and hardworking karyakartas, say the leaders. BJP feels blessed to have become the most preferred Political party in India. According to the sources, it is the world’s largest party in terms of primary membership. From 2 seats in 1984 to 282 seats in 2014, it has proved its zeal.

Sri Narendra Modi, the Prime minister of India, who is also the most popular leader of BJP, exclaims that BJP in India stands tall due to its democratic ethos and patriotic zeal. This is a Party which is always grounded at the forefront of helping fellow Indians. The development work has endeared the Party to all sections of society, across the length and breadth of India. The party and BJP karyakartas are working hard day and night to ensure that they are able to serve the nation and the common man. They want to continue serving the country like they have been for the past 5 years with greater energy, and consistency.
Sri Chandrakant Dada Patil, the revenue and agriculture minister of Maharashtra state, remembered Sri Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, who was also known as Sarsanghchalak of RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh). He has been integrally connected to the BJP. When we peek into the history, the origin of BJP lies in Bhartiya Jana Sangh, which was commonly known as Jana Sangh. This was founded in collaboration with- Hindu nationalist volunteer organisation, and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), and was widely regarded as the political arm of the RSS.
During the 7th Lok Sabha elections in 1980, Bhartiya Jana Sangh won 31 out of 433 contested seats. It lost elections, which led to the breakup of the Bhartiya Jan Sangh and lead to the formation of the BJP. In 1989, BJP won the 9th Lok Sabha elections, in which BJP won 85 seats while supporting the former Prime Minister, Sri VP Singh led Janata Dal Government. In 1999, the Lok Sabha elections took place and BJP won 182 seats, and this marked the golden moment for the BJP where Sri Atal Bihari Vajpayee was sworn in as the Prime Minister of India. Though in 2004, BJP lost the polls of 14th Lok Sabha elections, but the remarkable moment for BJP was its establishment of government in Karnataka which also happens to be the first southern state to have BJP government. By 2014, for 16th Lok Sabha elections, Sri Narendra Modi led the party to a historic win with 282 seats. Their slogan “Yes We Can! Yes, We Do!!” worked for them and marked to the memorable milestone. BJP also established itself for the first time in Jammu and Kashmir in 2014, in alliance with the People’s Democratic Party. In 2016, BJP won elections on its own by winning the hearts of North-East People. In 2017, BJP wrote a history in Uttar Pradesh when it formed the government by winning 312 seats out of 403.
Shri Chandrakant Patil Ji, since his arrival into the BJP has actively incorporated numerous progressive works which have benefitted people and hence, he has made a home in the hearts of people. He always stands strong with the party, supporting each other and together they prove us that indeed unity is the strength, as BJP believes “Nation first, Party next and self-last”.

On this auspicious day for BJP, it's every Karyakarta hopes that people, by seeing their welfare works in various sectors, and their achievements towards the upliftment and development of the country, support them and allow them to continue the Nation-building process, and some of the steps undertaken by the BJP, which has brought a great change in the country and has made India a Global Leader, have imprinted in people's memory.
