The Maratha community reservation decision has been the greatest achievement of the BJP Government in its first tenure in the state. Honourable Chief Minister, Mr Devendra Fadnavis and Honourable Revenue Minister, Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil are credited for this historical decision. Maratha community reservation demand was pending for the last 40 years and the present government could achieve it with its systematic approach, planning and legal and law expert’s workforce. Finally, the High Court has stamped on the order of 12 to 13% reservation for the Maratha community in government services and education. In Maharashtra state, the Maratha community comprises of 10% of the population and their reservation demand was the most prolonged demand since 1968. Congress Government tried to offer reservation to Maratha community, but their casual approach couldn't grab any success in this project.
