Incessant rains in Maharashtra resulted in flood situations in many districts. Heavy rainfall has forced the release of dam water into rivers increasing the water level and possibility of flood in adjoining areas. The rising water levels in the Pune area triggered the closing of 30 bridges in Pune and PCMC area. Flood situation in Kolhapur and Sangli districts is also terrifying. Panchaganga and Krishna rivers are overflowing causing flood in Kolhapur and Sangli low-lying areas.
