Positive Communication with Oil Companies for Gas/Stoves and Cylinder Availability
At the beginning of August, incessant rain in Kolhapur and Sangli districts resulted in a flood situation and it affected the lives in many ways. The State Government, Indian Army, NDRF teams, Indian Navy teams worked appropriately in order to save lives in this hard-hitting situation. Now, many social organisations, government, and corporate companies are ready to implement different relief measures in order to normalise the conditions in flood-hit areas. Flood affected areas are facing various issues including health issues, loss of household things such as gas-stoves, electronics, vehicles, etc. In this situation, Guardian Minister of Kolhapur district Honourable Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil has requested Petroleum companies to contribute for the distribution of gas stoves in flood-hit areas. Also, there is a need to start the campaign for restoration in flood-hit areas.
Guardian Minister, Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil conducted a meeting this week with the representatives of oil companies and instructed them to assist the flood-affected areas with the supply of gas stoves and cylinders. During this meeting, oil company officials have promised to contribute towards the flood-hit cause through the distribution of 60000 gas stoves in both flood-affected districts. The meeting was attended by officials of Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, Hindustan Petroleum and Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited. Most importantly all the representatives from gas company reacted positively to the request of Revenue Minister.
The flood-hit districts, Kolhapur and Sangli, are facing diverse issues and one of the important problems faced by the flood-affected people was the unavailability of gas stoves and cylinders due to the faults generated in them. Revenue Minister, Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil has recognised the implication of this issue and he has tried to provide a sound solution to this problem with the help of petroleum companies. A well-designed plan is developed in order to provide gas stoves and cylinders in flood-affected areas. According to this plan, either stoves with small gas cylinders will be provided to the people or only gas stoves will be given as per the requirement. The campaign to repair faulty gas stoves is also undertaken by the Government and associated companies and more than 200 expert mechanics are deployed for this purpose.
In this way, Honourable Mr Patil has helped to streamline the conditions in flood-hit areas. Gas stove audit and repairing will also assure about the safety of the system and it will not trigger further complications with accidents or threat to lives. MNGL Director, Mr Rajesh Pandey has been the controller for this initiative.
The decision to repair and offer gas stoves and cylinders is crucial for regularising the conditions and resume the routine life again in flood-hit areas. Availability of gas stoves is one of the basic requirements and primary agenda for the relief measures in flood-hit areas. Guardian Minister of Kolhapur district, Honourable Shri Chandrakant Dada Patil has taken a right step in this regard along with a positive communication with petroleum companies. Due to his request, company officials also have responded optimistically, and it is expected that stoves and cylinders issue will get resolved sooner in the flood-affected areas and consequently, it will help to normalise the conditions in these two districts. Revenue Minister, Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil’s logical thinking, decision-making abilities and work experience are exceptional and his leadership ability makes him a leader of masses.
