the state named as “Unnat Sheti Samruddha Shetkari” for two weeks. 19 Lakhs
farmers have participated in this campaign and 36000 programmes were arranged
through this platform. Mr Patil also informed that 12000 agricultural workshops
are being organised and 3 Lakhs farmers are being educated through this
campaign.
Agrowon has published detailed news
regarding this campaign. This innovative campaign was organised between 25th
May to 28th June 2019. Its main aim was to notify farmers about different
schemes and to assure effective implementation of different schemes related to
the agricultural sector. It's another intent was to introduce farmers with
advanced agricultural technologies and government schemes which are beneficial
to the farmers. During this campaign, farmers were trained about the
precautions needed while purchasing seeds and fertilizers, seed processing,
cultivation schemes of the Government, sprinkler systems, health conditions of
the land, etc. Different agricultural authorities and experts guided the
farmers through workshops organised during this campaign.
Agriculture Department of the state
has focused on increasing the yield, use of technologies and organisation of
workshops to empower the farmers in the state. These workshops are termed as
“Sheti-Shala”. 12000 workshops are being organised in the state through “Unnat
Sheti Samruddha Shetkari Abhiyan”. Through these workshops, farmers will be
made aware of different technologies and innovations in the agricultural
sector. These workshops are intended to increase the yield for lentil, jawar,
sugar cane, gram seed, rice, soybean and cotton crops.
Agriculture Minister of Maharashtra,
Honourable Shri
Chandrakant Dada Patil has undertaken different innovative initiatives in
this field. Mr Patil has always insisted on the empowerment of farmers through
different beneficial schemes, use of technology, increasing the yield,
inclusion of women from farmer families in their family businesses, appropriate
irrigation schemes, good price to the agricultural produce, etc.
Organization of training programmes,
workshops, and seminars for the agricultural sector also highlights the
collaborative efforts taken by different stakeholders in this field and
empowerment of the farmers. This attempt is highly appreciable since it applies
the research, innovations, and technologies to the actual fieldwork. The
knowledgeable inputs will help to empower the farmers in the state and to boost
the economy accordingly. The huge response shown by the farmers to this Abhiyan
underlines the success of this campaign and it will be a motivating factor for
the State Government for the future approaches in this domain.
Since Honourable Shri Chandrakant
Dada Patil has his own roots in the rural area, he totally understands the
problems faced by the farmers in Maharashtra. He has always tried to resolve
different problems faced by farmers in Maharashtra through different schemes
such as loan waiver, and other monetary benefits in case of natural calamities,
crop insurance, etc. “Unnat Sheti Samrudha Shetkari Abhiyan” is an appreciable
innovation undertaken by the Agriculture Department of Maharashtra and
Agriculture Minister, Honourable Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil is highly credible
for it. We convey our best wishes to this innovative campaign and
wish that these types of programmes will be undertaken further in the
future.
