In line with this requirement, the PWD department has tried to improve the road condition with repair work. Accordingly, necessary instructions are circulated to the officials for road development and construction works. According to Mr Patil, many devotees and Chakarmani travel to Konkan region via Mumbai-Kolhapur route. In order to provide them better and comfortable journey facilities, the State Government has decided to waive the toll on Mumbai-Kolhapur route for the travellers who are travelling to the Konkan region. Mr Patil also informed that Mumbai-Goa highway work is in progress and it will be accelerated once the climatic conditions allow. He also added that authorities are instructed to provide essential information on the highway, including names of the cities and villages, junction board, rambler strips, road strip, and speed breakers.

PWD Minister, Shri Chandrakant Dada Patil has given a great surprise to the travellers who are travelling to the Konkan area for Ganesh festival. This year Konkan region and western Maharashtra belt were badly affected due to flood conditions. In this situation, the State Government has undertaken many relief measures and initiatives for normalising the conditions. Ganesh festival is celebrated with enthusiasm and a big deal in the Konkan region. People of Konkan area generally work at big cities such as Mumbai and they visit their villages every year on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh festival.
