Necessity To Empower Farmer Families With Multi-Channel Ways

Minister of Maharashtra Honourable Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil attended an event
which was organised by Nashik Road, Deolali Vyapari Sahakari Bank to help
drought-affected farmer families. During this event, Mr Patil said that Shiv
Sena and Naam foundation are heavily engaged in helping affected farmer
families in Maharashtra but this type of help can be a temporary solution and
instead, it should be emphasized to make these farmer families independent by
strengthening their agriculture business with best practices. Mr Patil also
presented the Government’s stand to resolve the basic issues of farmers instead
of availing only loan waivers to them.
The event was also attended by
Cooperation State Minister, Mr Dada Bhuse, MP Mr Sanjay Raut, MP Mr Hemant
Godse, MLA Smt Devyani Pharandea and MLA Smt Seema Hire.
During this event Agriculture
Minister, Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil explained that the bank has taken a right
kind of decision to help affected farmer families. Along with this monetary
help, there should be attempts made to make these farmer families independent
and empowered. He also assured that the Government is committed to offering Rs
1,00,000 seed capital while offering loans to farmer families. Also, the
Government is committed to give the right price towards the agriculture
produce. Cold storage homes will be availed at marketplaces which will add to
the storage convenience of agricultural processes. Finally, the Government is
planning to empower farmers with low-interest loans on their yield. The
government is also planning to waive the interest on loans taken for irrigation
systems.
While
explaining the role of present Government, Mr Patil also blamed that the
Congress Government never attempted to resolve the basic problems of
Maharashtrian farmers and their inoperativeness has resulted in this kind of
situation in the state.
Mr
Patil also added that it is necessary to increase the contribution of women
from the affected farmer’s family in the agriculture business. This can be
achieved with the help of all associated stakeholders. Mr Patil also appealed
to financial organisations to contribute to agricultural supplementary
businesses. During this event, 88 farmer families were helped with Rs
20,000 cheque. Bank also declared that they will adopt 300 children from farmer
families in 2016-17 and they will contribute to their educational
expenses.

Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Chandrakant Patil precisely explained the role of
government, banks, and other stakeholders to strengthen farmer families in
Maharashtra. He pointed out that the monetary help is just a temporary solution
for supporting farmer families, but for strengthening their livelihood it is
necessary to think about agriculture processes through multiple angles and
dimensions. Multi-channel improvement in the system can assure a better future
for the farmers in Maharashtra. Role of various stakeholders is essential for promoting
and strengthening agriculture business. Mr Patil has also stressed on the
significance of the participation of women in the family business. To achieve
this, he has provided the right solutions in the form of supplementary
businesses.
