International Yoga Day—21st June 2019

Practising yoga is beneficial to grow into a better human being with a sharp mind, a healthy body, a good heart, adequate growth, and a relaxed soul. 21st June is observed as an International Yoga Day worldwide and it is a great effort to underline the significance of this Indian art and health practice in our lives. International Yoga Day is celebrated on the 21st of June every year which was initiated due to the proposal of Indian Prime Minister, Honourable Mr Narendra Modi Ji. Due to this, the United Nations announced 21st June as International Yoga Day in December 2014.

The 1st International Yoga Day was celebrated worldwide with a passion. The celebration of Yoga Day at Delhi, Rajpath was exceptionally grand due to the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji along with many renowned people from different parts of the world who all participated in the event and practised various yoga asanas.

Yoga Day Celebrations
This day is observed to understand the importance of Yoga and Meditation and how inculcating it in our lives impacts the total well-being. The day is celebrated by various organizations, institutes, schools, colleges by the Yoga event organisation. People also participate in Yoga activities organized at gardens, clubs, etc. Lectures and workshops are arranged to understand the importance of Yoga in our lives for a healthy and happy lifestyle. Yoga trainers voluntarily participate in this day celebration by offering Yoga training to people. They also provide information on Indian Yoga Institutes and their examinations, career options, etc.

The significance of Yoga is accepted worldwide, and people are following these health practices to a great extent. It gives us immense pleasure and pride that Indian things are being recognised and admired at an international level. Yoga is our heritage, and extremely useful for the physical and mental health of a person.
