High Priority to The Completion of Pending Highway Works


Public Works Department Minister of Maharashtra, Honourable Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil has recently informed that Karad-Chiplun highway construction and widening work will be completed on a priority basis. During the assembly session, Shri Shambhuraje Desai raised questions regarding Kolhapur-Ratnagiri national highway construction and widening work. While answering this query PWD Minister, Mr Chandrakant Patil replied that he will pay adequate attention for speedy completion of Karad-Chiplun highway work. 

PWD Minister, Mr Chandrakant Patil responded by adding that in order to ensure safe travel during heavy rains on the Karad-Chiplun route, the PWD will try to accelerate Karad-Chiplun highway work on a priority basis. He also assured that he will take necessary actions regarding incomplete and pending road project. Mr Patil also said that for speedy highway construction work, the PWD is planning to reduce tender notice duration from 45 days to 7 days. In this way, highway construction and widening work will take momentum. Mr Patil also said that Kolhapur-Ratnagiri national highway Four- Laning work proposal is under process. The department is engaged in the preparation of detailed project report and feasibility analysis for this four-laning work. Once the State Department gets permission from the Central Government, the Kolhapur-Ratnagiri national highway Four- Laning work will be started immediately at Shahuwadi. Mr Patil also informed that bridge construction and repair work is also in progress at Julewadi. 

Revenue Minister of Maharashtra Honourable Shri Chandrakant Dada Patil has systematic explained his plan to complete pending highway works with high momentum. Mr Patil has been handling the PWD department very effectively and he has undertaken many road constructions, widening and four laning projects in the state. Sometimes road construction and repair work projects remain incomplete or get into the pending state due to technical issues, land acquisition issues, or other constraints. Mr Chandrakant Patil has clearly specified his stand that completion of Karad-Chiplun highway work is necessary for safe travelling in the upcoming rainy season. He has also reduced tender notice duration from 45 days to 7 days and he has also assured that there will be strict action against the companies which will be responsible for the incomplete work of highway or delay in completion. 

Honourable PWD Minister, Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil’s stand is firm regarding the completion of pending highway works for safe and comfortable travel. Mr Patil has always insisted on adequate transportation facilities in remote and urban areas. He believes that good connectivity with various modes of comfortable transport options represents development initiatives in a specific area. Being Guardian Minister of Kolhapur district, he also has initiated many roads construction, bridge development and repair projects in Kolhapur district. According to Mr Patil, Karad- Chiplun and Ratnagiri-Kolhapur highway work completion are on top priority since these highways connect western Maharashtra to Konkan belt. Many travellers travel daily on this route and their safety is a major concern. Hopefully, Mr Patil accomplishes the highway pending works as early as possible.
