High Priority to The Completion of Pending Highway Works
Public Works Department
Minister of Maharashtra, Honourable Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil has recently
informed that Karad-Chiplun highway construction and widening work will be
completed on a priority basis. During the assembly session, Shri Shambhuraje
Desai raised questions regarding Kolhapur-Ratnagiri national highway
construction and widening work. While answering this query PWD Minister, Mr
Chandrakant Patil replied that he will pay adequate attention for speedy
completion of Karad-Chiplun highway work.
PWD Minister, Mr Chandrakant Patil
responded by adding that in order to ensure safe travel during heavy rains on
the Karad-Chiplun route, the PWD will try to accelerate Karad-Chiplun
highway work on a priority basis. He also assured that he will take necessary
actions regarding incomplete and pending road project. Mr Patil also said that
for speedy highway construction work, the PWD is planning to reduce tender
notice duration from 45 days to 7 days. In this way, highway construction and
widening work will take momentum. Mr Patil also said that Kolhapur-Ratnagiri
national highway Four- Laning work proposal is under process. The department is
engaged in the preparation of detailed project report and feasibility analysis
for this four-laning work. Once the State Department gets permission from the
Central Government, the Kolhapur-Ratnagiri national highway Four- Laning work
will be started immediately at Shahuwadi. Mr Patil also informed that bridge
construction and repair work is also in progress at Julewadi.
Revenue Minister of
Maharashtra Honourable Shri Chandrakant Dada Patil has systematic explained his
plan to complete pending highway works with high momentum. Mr Patil has been
handling the PWD department very effectively and he has undertaken many road constructions,
widening and four laning projects in the state. Sometimes road construction and
repair work projects remain incomplete or get into the pending state due to
technical issues, land acquisition issues, or other constraints. Mr Chandrakant
Patil has clearly specified his stand that completion of Karad-Chiplun highway
work is necessary for safe travelling in the upcoming rainy season. He has also
reduced tender notice duration from 45 days to 7 days and he has also assured
that there will be strict action against the companies which will be
responsible for the incomplete work of highway or delay in completion.
Honourable PWD Minister, Mr
Chandrakant Dada Patil’s stand is firm regarding the completion of pending
highway works for safe and comfortable travel. Mr Patil has always insisted on
adequate transportation facilities in remote and urban areas. He believes that
good connectivity with various modes of comfortable transport options
represents development initiatives in a specific area. Being Guardian Minister
of Kolhapur district, he also has initiated many roads construction, bridge
development and repair projects in Kolhapur district. According to Mr Patil,
Karad- Chiplun and Ratnagiri-Kolhapur highway work completion are on top
priority since these highways connect western Maharashtra to Konkan belt. Many
travellers travel daily on this route and their safety is a major concern.
Hopefully, Mr Patil accomplishes the highway pending works as early as
possible.
