Statement on Pune’s 8 Vidhan Sabha Constituencies

Maharashtra state elections are set to commence soon, and many political parties have started their election campaigns as well as plans accordingly. The BJP too has implemented a strategic approach for the election schedule. Recently, the party made significant announcements by considering the upcoming election event in mind. One major decision was that of appointing the Honourable Revenue Minister- Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil as the BJP Chief for Maharashtra state. He is also appointed as the Guardian Minister of Pune district. These appointments indicate that Mr Patil will be handling election campaign responsibility for Pune region.

Shri Chandrakant Dada Patil recently gave an interview to one of the media channels. In this interview, he has clarified that all 8 constituencies in Pune area will be taken over by BJP alone and no other friend or alliance party should claim these 8 constituencies. Mr Patil has strictly warned all alliance parties through this statement.

Meanwhile, Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil attended the Pune Melava event. During this event, he threw light on some of the election plans of the BJP. Mr Patil clarified that the political party should claim any constituency only if they deserve to lead it or there is any possibility of leading it with major changes through the election campaign. At the moment, all 8 constituencies are being led by BJP and there is no possibility of power change for them in the near future. Hence, all 8 constituencies will be contested for by BJP alone in the upcoming Vidhan Sabha election. He further added that the seat allocation decision will be finalised by Mr Uddhav Thackrey and Mr Devendra Fadnavis together. So, there is no need to take other people’s statements seriously in this regard.

Earlier, one of the Shiv-Sena leaders- Mr Tanaji Savant had used aggressive language against the BJP. With a view to replying to his words, Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil cleared that all concerns regarding seat allocation and the Chief Minister position will be sorted out by Mr Uddhav Thackrey and Mr Devendra Fadnavis. He further added that BJP takes Mr Uddhav Thackrey seriously and no one else should interfere further in these major decisions.

When Mr Chandrakant Patil was asked about the possibility of contesting for the election, he replied that he will follow the instructions given by the party authorities. If they force him to participate in the war, he will definitely be on the pitch. Mr Patil has not been elected through the Assembly election yet, but he has great experience of the Graduate Constituency election for Rajya Sabha.

When Mr Patil was asked about Mr Sharad Pawar’s criticism related to him about no assembly election experience, he replied that I have been elected through graduate constituency that represents 5 districts altogether. Even Mr Pawar has never been elected for 5 districts at a time.

Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil attended BJP Melava at Pune. During this gathering, he has cleared the plans for Pune and its connection with the BJP. He has also mentioned that he will participate in the election if he is instructed to do so. Hopefully, Mr Patil receives an opportunity to participate in the election and to represent any constituency at Vidhan Sabha.
